Though scantly considered, in the territory of the European Union do exist and operate several active citizenship organizations. In some cases they take part in the public institutions' "participatory democracy" programs, while in other cases they operate without any relation with institutions. EUProact website aimes at contributing to the visibility of these organizations and civic actions they give place to, as a contribution to the definition and implementation of European public policies, as well as to the construction of a European public sphere.
To this end a database of good practices of civic action is made at the public's disposal in the website. Visitors are also invited to submit other good practices, so contributing to the growth of information and knowledge of civic activism in Europe.
